Initiatives
Fallen Officer Memorial
To honor the four Arvada Police officers who died in the line of duty, the Foundation has joined with the Department and the City to build a memorial in recognition of the sacrifice made by those officers to protect our community.
Arvada Police Department Family Day
The first initiative undertaken by the Foundation was sponsoring a 2024 Family Day to be put on by the Arvada Police Department Peer Support Group for the members of the Department and their families.
The last Family Day was held in 2019, so it is an event that is overdue. To be held this summer, Family Day will be a chance for the families that make up the Department to renew old acquaintances, make new ones, introduce their families to their colleagues and just have fun. With typical party entertainments and food, we expect a very successful event.
Community Care Fund
In the course of providing service, Arvada Police officers sometimes encounter community members with immediate basic needs that can be helped with modest financial assistance. In the past, officers occasionally have reached into their own pockets to lend a helping hand. Now, we as a community can add our support.
The Arvada Police Foundation has established a Community Care Fund to provide resources to allow officers to provide that help without having to reach into their own pockets.
Other Initiatives Under Consideration
The Foundation is considering a number of other initiatives for 2024 and forward. Learn more about these projects and contact us if you would like to get involved to support these efforts.
